My apologies for not emailing in such a long time. We had a very busy summer, mostly trying to keep up with demand for the Row by Row Experience pattern and kits. We hope you all got to go to some shops (including ours, of course) this summer to check out the rows for this exciting new national shop hop! We should get more information about next year's theme sometime in November and we will keep you posted!
Now on to what we are currently doing in the shop! Bonnie Bronk will be teaching a log cabin table runner pattern in October. The class will be two weeks, Oct 6th and 13th. We have set a limit of 12 people and already are about half full. If you are interested please come by the shop and sign up and pay the class fee. You can also sign up for the class on our website. Bonnie is providing the pattern the first day of class and we have a suggested list of supplies for you in the shop. The cost will be $10.00.
Betty Paulsen has agreed to do a Huck toweling/Swedish weaving class for us on November 4th. Betty had some samples of Huck towel weaving in the quilt show. If you didn't see them or aren't sure, stop by the shop we have a couple of her samples on display. The class will be held Wednesday, November 4th. Patterns will be provided and we have huck toweling, perle cotton embroidery floss and huck needles available at the shop. The cost will be $15.00.
Many of you stopped by the Martelli Enterprise booth during the quilt show. Joanne (the Martelli rep) has offered to come to the shop for a demo day so everyone can get more information and and try some of the products. We would like to set up the date for either Wednesday, December 2 or Saturday, December 5th. I need to call Joanne and give her a date and commitment by Friday, so please let me know if you are interested and which date you prefer. We need to guarantee that we will have at least 20 people come to the demo!
In addition to the above fun events, the fall shop hop, The Washington Road Trip, begins October 3rd and goes through October 18th. Stop by to see our block and how you can get started early on the "mystery" quilt. I will be printing Passports this week, so you can get the list of participating shops and start planning your trip!
Thanks again everyone for making our shop so successful and keeping us on our toes!! We have lots of new things come this fall and as usual we're trying to stay ahead of your wants and desires! Let us know if there is anything we can order or if you have any class ideas that you want us to follow up on.
